I have purchased a code from Team Buy, or Steal the Deal, how do I activate my membership?
Simply visit the main page and click on the headphones link in the cent of the page that says "Already Purchased A Membership and Have an Activation Code? Click here to actiave your membership now!" Once you click on that link, or this link here you will be able to fill in your code at the top of the page, a couple more pieces of information about you, and your activation code will be sent right to you in the mail. From there it is a matter of activating and you will have instant access to each week's 10 songs. Please note that you will typically have to wait 24 hours from when you receive your code until it will be active on the website.
How do you screen music and select songs to be featured?
All of the songs that are uploaded to the site are listened to by our screening deparment. They are reviewed to ensure they are top quality music worth sharing with our subscribers. Once they have made the cut, artists are signed to distribution contracts to allow us to send their music to subscribers.
When I click “download this song” where does it go?
If it asks where you want it, select your music folder or wherever you want.. if it just downloads, it may be auto selecting the “downloads” folder.. you should right click the “download song” button and click “save link as…” to specify destination.
How do I get the songs on my iPod?
Put the songs in the folder: libraries -> music -> iTunes -> iTunes Media -> Automatically Add to iTunes. After doing this, you probably want to open iTunes, go into “Recently Added” under “Playlists” and move the songs into a new playlist like “weeklyindie” to keep track of them over time, and to find them easily on your iPod!
How can I help Weekly Indie give back to the independent music community?
Weekly Indie will pay artists for their music based on the number of subscribers that are signed up to the service to receive the songs every week. The more subscribers there are in the system, the more the artists will make for their music.
